  • Gladys’ [sic] Leap is the transitional album from the start of their 30 years (and counting!) competent phase. Whilst terrific musicians, they have for many years lacked a creative heart and a good singer. GL gets by importing the song writing talent from the likes of Thomson and McTell/5(8).
  • Fairport Convention is often credited with being one of the first English folk rock bands. Formed in , Fairport rapidly developed from playing cover versions of American 'west coast' music to an individual style which melded rock music with traditional English folk tunes and songs. Like their peers The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and Jefferson Airplane they were blessed with .
